    After the market closed on Monday, Questcor (QSC) announced financial results for its fiscal 2007 fourth quarter ended December 31, 2007. The Company posted revenue of $27.1 million, an increase of 697% from the year-ago quarter, and net quarterly profit of $0.45 per diluted share (including a tax gain of $0.20 per share). These results compare to revenue of $3.4 million and a net quarterly loss of ($0.06) per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter fourth quarter.

    A little noticed event Wednesday, namely Questcor's (AMEX: QSC) announced completion of the repurchase of 2,155,715 shares of outstanding Series A Preferred Stock from Shire Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: SHPGY), for cash, may have cleared the way for a possible takeover of Questcor by a larger Bio/Pharma rival, specifically Shire itself.

    Questcor (QSC) yesterday announced that the Company has completed the repurchase of the outstanding 2,155,715 shares of Series A Preferred Stock from Shire Pharmaceuticals, Inc. for cash of $10.3 million, or $4.80 per share which was the closing price of Questcor's common stock on February 19, 2008.

  • Questcor Pharmaceuticals Just Ramping Up

    On Monday, Questcor Pharmaceuticals Inc. (AMEX: QSC) reported great earnings for their 3rd quarter of $14.8 million and that is compared with $4 million for the same period a year ago. This pushed the stock passed its 52-week high of $1.89 to close at $1.92 up 61 cents or over 46% on over 7.5 million shares traded for the day.

    The Net Income that they reported for the quarter was 12 cents per share versus a loss of 3 cents per share for the same period a year ago. This is called growth.
